Happy Tuesday my friends! This week brings new opportunity for creativity, so let your wheels turn a bit, get creative and do something new! I plan to paint & redesign my son's bedroom this weekend while he is away on a fishing trip! Wish me luck!
Today I want to shift your awareness a bit after more news of tragedy has covered the news and social media. I do think humans in general have lost their adoration for human life, and we rarely leave anything sacred anymore. We've also become overly generous in sharing negativity. But one thing I want to point out is that to me it seems the general response to tragedy these days is to globalize local tragic events. Although we can sympathize with the victims, and their families, personally I don't think we should blame all of mankind for an individual's actions.
Clearly people who take to crime to express their beliefs do not know or understand love, and all to often are mentally ill individuals that remain silent for far too long . Nonetheless, acts of hate and crime aren't the answer, but saying that mankind is falling apart isn't the answer either.
I think if we lose hope in mankind because of an individual's actions then we have forgotten our own capabilities to make a beautiful life and even spread and share that beauty. We have defaulted to the outward reliance on pleasure and happiness, instead of creating it within. We blame mankind for creating a world of hatred & negativity and yet we are the very source we blame. We can't point fingers if we haven't taken action to make the change we hope to see. My heart breaks for victims of such acts of violence, and even the perpetrator in his delusional outcry.
Personally, I have seen too many acts of kindness, generosity, selflessness, love and appreciation for me to say that our society or world is ugly. It's not. There is beauty around every corner and in everything. There is also illness everywhere and around every corner, that from which we learn and grow. There is a lesson in everything, we just have to open our hearts to it. If there wasn't, we'd have no room for growth or evolution. So, just remember, perhaps we shouldn't blame our society or mankind for one individuals actions. Perhaps we should search within for our personal capabilities to make the sift happen.
